The Buchanan-Clements Foundation exists to support nonprofit organizations with useful, tangible needs that may not fit the usual interests of their typical donors.
Why this focus matters
Nonprofit organizations often know exactly what would help them serve people better: equipment, furnishings, technology, tools, supplies or another practical capital item. Yet these needs can be difficult to fund because they may not be large enough for a major campaign or compelling enough for a traditional fundraising appeal.
BCF considers those practical needs and looks for opportunities where a relatively modest contribution can have a meaningful effect.
Our approach is intentionally straightforward. We ask organizations to explain what they need, why they need it and what it will cost. We then consider each request based on the information provided, available resources and the Foundation’s charitable priorities.
How We Think

Specific
Strong requests clearly identify the item, the need it addresses and a realistic cost.
Flexible
We consider requests individually rather than forcing every organization into a complicated application structure.
BCF does not charge application or grant-processing fees.
Be cautious of any person or organization claiming to represent BCF and asking for payment, banking credentials, passwords or other sensitive information as a condition of receiving funding.
